Music production is fun, says JaySynths

Nothing compares to having so much fun as the work you do for a living. This explains the reason why many do not derive joy from the work they do. Sooner or later, boredom sets in and job dissatisfaction becomes the order of the day.

But for music producer Chisom Obinna Onyeke, affectionately known in the entertainment world as JaySynths, making music is just plain fun.
Keyboardist and bassist, the hit maker began his musical career as a drummer in the church.

His dexterity in what he does propelled him to greater heights when he embraced production professionally in 2015 in the country’s capital, Abuja.

He soon left for Lagos where he put his skills to good use to become a household name in the industry today.

JaySynths was born and raised in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria. He began his studies at All Saints Primary School, Onitsha, before moving on to Government Secondary School, Karshi, Abuja. He topped it off with a degree in political science from the University of Abuja.

In a press conference with reporters, JaySynths recalled the trip from the get-go, saying:
“I have been producing since 2015 until now and have worked with most of the industry greats including Teni, skiibii, Mr Eazi, ice prince, Mr P, Victor AD, Kuami Eugene, KiDi and many more .

Although music has a universal language, JaySynths claims that the Pop and RnB genres give it ultimate satisfaction due to the challenge of their vibrancy.

However, the journey did not start for him on a plateau as he must overcome obstacles to get to where he is today.

His words: “The first challenge was how to create world music and I had to learn the techniques to get it sounding good. And it worked for me as soon as I had the right techniques ”, he recalled while affirming that the continuous evolution and the experimenting of new sounds is a lifelong commitment which he does not have. intends to give up anytime soon.

“Every day I try to create something iconic. It improves and sharpens me enough. I learned a lot of lessons, but the most important is to be unique and relevant, otherwise you will be forgotten, ”he added.

Besides “Case” which he produced for Teni, the sound master also made Daz How Star of Skiibii, Power Rangers of Teni, Ozana of Hotkid.

Others include Teni’s Wait, Teni’s Case, Teni’s Power Rangers, Ice Prince’s In a Fix, Victor AD’s Doh, Kuami Eugene’s Obiaato, and many more.

Rather than seeing any of the singers he’s worked with as his preference, JaySynths says they are all his favorites and urged musicians to close ranks with producers for a mutually beneficial working relationship.

“They should take producers more seriously. In fact, we should be the richest in the music industry, but we are still not being considered. But I’m sure that would change soon, ”he said.
