The production team of George Massenburg, Ann Mincieli, Eric Schilling and Michael Romanowski will start the day with a special Keynote Conversation, discussing the processes they used together to create Alicia Keys. Aliciawinner of the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Immersive Audio Album.

“Immersive music is all the rage right now, and it’s only getting more intense,” says Thomas Kenny, co-editor of To mix together. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to kick things off with George, Ann, Eric and Michael all on the Engineer/Producer A-list. They spent three years finding the best possible way to present Alicia Keys in an immersive way, and the results are evident. So far, it seems the introduction of immersive audio into the music industry has largely been left to individual engineers. This group wants to talk about what it has learned. They want to educate.

MixNYC, the industry’s first event to focus entirely on immersive music production, will be held entirely within the recently revitalized BerkleeNYC (Power Station Studios) complex. “BerkleeNYC has brought the famed Power Station Studios back to the forefront of the recording world,” says Clive Young, co-publisher of To mix together. “After a three-year renovation, it’s a state-of-the-art facility, making it the perfect setting for MixNYC attendees to immerse themselves in immersive music all day, get information in person, directly pros and makers bringing the format into the mainstream.

Expert presentations on immersive music recording, mixing, and distribution will follow the Keynote Conversation, along with sponsor demos, new product exhibits, one-on-one interviews, multiple networking opportunities, and more. Additional panelists, sponsors and program information will be announced in the coming weeks.
