• Houston has received a summons for violating New Jersey's water-use restrictions after police found lawn sprinklers running at her -acre estate -- State officials imposed water-use restrictions last month because of East Coast drought conditions. (September 2002)
• (11 January 2000) Hawaiian security guards discovered a half an ounce of marijuana in baggage being carried by Whitney & husband Bobby Brown. The couple was permitted to board their plane.
• (1991) Chosen by People magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world.
• Appeared on the covers on Seventeen and Glamour magazines before becoming a major recording artist.

  Whitney has garnered a slew of international awards, including six Grammys, 21 American Music Awards, 12 NAACP Image Awards, six People's Choice Awards, two Emmys, 15 Billboard Music Awards and eight Soul Train Awards, including the Soul Train Artist of the Decade Award. She was most recently honored with the inaugural BET Lifetime Achievement Award in June 2001.

  She won MTV Movie Award for Best Movie Song in 1993 for THE BODYGUARD.
